Review workflow
This page covers the workflow itself. See General information for a post and Unfinished posts for what the fields mean and the status before submission.
The review queue is a separate page, only accessible to users with the controle (review) role. It shows all submitted posts still waiting for review (auto-refreshing every 30 seconds), with per post: title, categories, priority, author, source (if present), submission time, and “ready for review” timestamp. Your own posts get an “Own post” label.
Roles and permissions
- Review role — required to open the review queue; users without this role don’t see this screen and have no access to it.
- No further distinction is made within the role: anyone with the review role can always review colleagues’ posts immediately.
- For your own submitted posts, a waiting period may apply — see Self-review below.
Self-review: a delay for your own posts
If the broadcaster setting “approval modal” is on, you can’t immediately approve your own submitted post yourself. A waiting period (5 minutes by default, configurable per broadcaster) applies from the moment of submission before you may review your own post — try earlier, and you get a message with the configured waiting period in minutes (always the same fixed number, not a countdown of remaining time). You can always immediately review posts from colleagues. This waiting period does not apply to posts with “Breaking news” priority — those are always immediately reviewable, even by the author themselves. If the setting is off, no restriction applies at all.
Actions: approve, request revision, or reject
Opening a post in the queue gives you two options:
- Approve post — the post is now actually eligible for automatic publication (see the publication window in General information for a post); without this approval, the background publication process never picks up the post, even if the publication window has already passed.
- Reject post — opens a mandatory reason field, with two possible
outcomes:
- Request revision — the post goes back to the author as a draft: it reappears in their Unfinished posts, with the given reason emailed to the author (including a direct link to the post). The reason is also added as a comment on the post, so it’s also visible in the comment history once the author reopens the post. After editing, the author can resubmit it.
- Reject — the post is deleted. The author receives the same reason by email, but the post doesn’t come back as a draft.
Filling in a reason is required in both cases — you can’t reject or request revision without one. The author doesn’t receive an email if the post was created automatically (a “connect” post) or if no email address is known.

Open a post from the queue
A waiting period may apply to your own posts, unless the post is Breaking news.
Approve, or request revision/rejection with a reason
Approving makes the post eligible for automatic publication; requesting revision sends it back as a draft; rejecting deletes the post.
