Linking a calendar event to a post
In the post editor, you can link a post to one calendar event. This is the per-post side of the calendar; see Calendar for the standalone calendar view itself (the screen where you manage all events).
You can only link one event per post. To link a different event, you first need to unlink the current one. This is enforced by the create/find buttons disappearing once an event is linked — there’s no extra check behind it, so a double click or two open tabs could in rare cases still leave a second, invisible link behind. If you suspect this happened, refresh the page and unlink again.
Linking an event here doesn’t publish it anywhere — this only links this post to the event in the calendar, it doesn’t change the event’s own visibility. Calendar events can already, independently of any post link, be publicly visible through a separate agenda view (for example for a tickertape or on a website) — whether an event shows up there never depends on whether you link it to a post here.
Creating a new event
Click “Nieuw evenement toevoegen” (Add new event) to create a new event directly from the post and link it immediately: title, start and end date (with an “all-day event” option), location, and description. For example: title “City council press conference”, start date today 2:00 PM, end date today 3:00 PM, location “City Hall, council chamber”.
Finding an existing event
Click “Zoeken” (Search) to search the calendar for an existing event. You can filter by start date, end date, and a free-text search term (title or description), with a choice to sort by date ascending or descending. Clicking “Link” on an event in the results list immediately links it to the post.
After linking
Once an event is linked, the post shows that event’s title, start date, and end date, with a button to remove the link again — this only removes the link to this post, not the event itself from the calendar.
Choose: create a new event, or find an existing one
Both options link the event to the post immediately.
