Creating TV pages
Below the text of a post is the “Create pages for TV” button (later “Format post for TV” once pages exist), labeled AI. This lets Newsroom split a post into one or more separate TV pages — the basis for what can later be shown on screen as “beeldkrant” (see the explanation in General information for a post for how such a page eventually becomes visible).
Automatic generation with AI
The first time you open the TV pages window, Newsroom automatically has the AI split the post’s full text into at most 4 pages that fit the available text box on TV — the AI takes into account the text box width, font, and font size currently configured, the same settings as TV page in Managing general settings. Once this has happened, the “Generate automatically” button stays available afterwards too — see the warning below for what happens if you use it again.
Changing these font/size/width settings later has no effect on TV pages that were already generated — only newly generated pages take the latest setting into account.
Clicking “Generate automatically” again after pages already exist (for example after editing one by hand or adding a page) now first asks for confirmation: choosing “yes” fully replaces the existing pages — including any manual edits — with the new, AI-generated set. If you clicked it by accident, just choose “Cancel” in that confirmation dialog.
If automatic generation fails (for example a temporary AI outage), Newsroom shows an error message in the window itself.
Editing the pages
Every TV page has:
- Title — optional. Leave this field empty and Newsroom automatically uses the post’s own title as the heading when showing this page; fill something in and it replaces the post title for this one page only.
- Content — the page’s text, required.
Both fields are directly editable in the window; changes are saved automatically, about one second after your last keystroke. Next to each text field is a live preview of what the page will look like as an image, based on the category background and the text styling settings from TV page under Settings > General.
Adding or deleting pages
- New page — adds a blank page (your own title + text, no AI) without regenerating the existing pages.
- Delete — removes a single page, with a confirmation prompt; this can’t be undone.
If saving, adding, or deleting a page fails, Newsroom shows an error message.
Workflow
Open “Create pages for TV” below the post’s text
For a post without TV pages, Newsroom generates them automatically with AI as soon as you open the window.
Adjust title and content per page where needed
Changes save automatically; the preview next to the text field always shows the latest version.
Add a page manually if needed, or delete one
Manually added pages don’t go through an AI step.
