Accountability report
Settings > Reports > Accountability report is a separate page next to the regular Reports page, meant as a periodic overview for a broadcaster’s board or funders. The report combines two new figures (channel distribution and planning throughput) with a number of the existing publication figures, for a period of your choice — and can be downloaded as a PDF in one go.
Roles and permissions
The menu link and the page are only visible if your broadcaster has the Accountability report feature enabled — that applies to everyone, regardless of role. If you do have access to the page but not the Settings role (see Managing users), every widget on this page shows “Failed to load this report. Please try again later.” — the same message shown for a temporary outage, with no indication that this is actually a missing role (same behavior as on the regular Reports page). The Recipients section at the bottom of the page shows its own error message (“Could not load recipients.”) in that case, instead of the shared text mentioned above.
Choosing a period
At the top of the page you choose the period the report covers, independent of any period choices on the regular Reports page:
- Quarter (default) — a year (up to 4 years back) and a quarter (Q1 through Q4). Defaults to the current year and quarter when you open the page.
- Custom period — a free start and end date, defaulting to the last 30 days.
All figures on the page — except the fixed figures further down — automatically recalculate as soon as you change the period.
Right below the period picker sits an automatically generated summary sentence, for example “In the period 01-07-2026 through 30-09-2026 the editorial team published 4 posts, distributed 7 times across its own channels, an increase of 12.5% compared to the previous period.” The sentence always compares the number of posts in the chosen period against an equally long period directly before it (e.g. the previous quarter); if no full period is chosen, or there’s no previous period to compare against, the comparison clause is simply left out.
Key metrics
Right below the summary sentence sits a row of four key metrics for the chosen period: Published posts, Channel uses, Avg. throughput, and Completed planning items — derived from the same figures as the Channel distribution and Planning throughput widgets below, which sit in the same section, directly under the key-metrics strip. The remaining reused widgets appear further down the page under a separate heading, see Reused figures.
For three of the four tiles — Published posts, Channel uses, and Avg. throughput — an arrow with a percentage appears next to the figure, showing the change compared to the same, equally long period directly before the chosen one. Completed planning items has no comparison. A green arrow means a favorable change, a red arrow an unfavorable one — for Published posts and Channel uses, more is favorable (green pointing up); for Avg. throughput, fewer days is favorable (green pointing down, even though the arrow then shows a falling percentage). No arrow appears at all when there’s nothing to compare: with an incomplete period selection, or when the previous period was zero for that tile.
Channel distribution
A pie chart and a bar chart covering the posts published in the chosen period, based on the publication date:
- Number of channels per post — how many posts were published to 1, to 2-3, or to 4 or more channels at once. A LinkedIn placement counts as one channel here, regardless of which of the two internal LinkedIn publishing paths it went through.
- By platform — how many posts were published to each platform in the period (e.g. Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, WordPress, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, your own website). A platform nothing was published to in the chosen period doesn’t appear in the bar chart.
If the chosen period contains no published posts at all, this widget shows a “no data” message instead of empty charts.
Planning throughput
Figures about planning items (see Planning), based on when a planning item was created within the chosen period:
- Average and median throughput — in days, only for the planning items completed within the period (status “Done”).
- Completed items — the number of planning items included in the average/median throughput.
- By status — how many planning items from the period are in each status (New, Draft, In progress, Ready for review, Done, Blocked).
This is a different measurement than “Lead time” on the regular Reports page. This widget measures the time from creating a planning item to the moment it’s marked as done — not the time until a post is submitted for review or published.
Whether this widget shows “0 days” or a dedicated message depends on whether your broadcaster has Editorial planning enabled — not on whether the chosen period happens to contain any planning items. If Editorial planning is off, the widget always shows “Editorial planning not active”, regardless of the period. If Editorial planning is on but there are no planning items (or every status is at zero) in the chosen period, the widget instead shows “No planning data in this period”. If there are planning items in the period but none completed yet, the status breakdown still shows, with a separate note that nothing has been completed yet.
Reused figures
Under a “Details” heading, separate from the key-metrics strip and the Channel distribution/ Planning throughput widgets above, sit four of the existing widgets from the regular Reports page, with the same fixed periods as there (see Reports for the full explanation of each widget): Posts per week (fixed last 10 weeks), Posts by category (fixed all-time), Posts by region (no period filter), and Top keywords per period (fixed last 6 months, per month).
Posts by category trend is an exception here. On the regular Reports page, this chart always shows the last 12 months. In the Accountability report, the same chart does follow the period chosen above.
Downloading the PDF
The “Download PDF” button generates and downloads a PDF version of the full report for the chosen period, with the same figures shown on screen. The download opens in a new tab.
Recipients and automatic quarterly mailing
At the bottom of the page sits a separate “Recipients” section, apart from the rest of the report: here you manage who automatically receives this accountability report (e.g. board members or a municipal contact person).
- Add — an email address (required) and a name (optional, e.g. “Chairperson”). There’s no edit function: to change an address, remove the existing recipient and add the new address again.
- Maximum of 10 recipients per broadcaster. Once this limit is reached, the add form disappears and the section shows a message that the maximum has been reached.
- Removing a recipient works instantly, with no separate confirmation step.
If your broadcaster has the Accountability report feature enabled and at least one recipient is on the list, every recipient automatically receives an email on January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1 at 08:00, containing the report for the quarter that just ended (so on January 1, the fourth quarter of the previous year), with the PDF attached. Without recipients, no report is built or sent for your broadcaster — the report on this page remains available to view and download manually at any time regardless.
