Version history
Above the text in the Content tab of a post is a “Version history” button. This shows a list of earlier text versions of this specific post (with date and time), with a preview of the selected version and a “Restore this version” button that puts the chosen text back into the editor.
Not every change becomes a separate version. Newsroom compares a new version of the text with the last saved version. A new version is only created if the text differs by more than ~20% from the previous version, or if the previous version is more than an hour old. Small in-between edits within that hour simply overwrite the existing (latest) version, without adding a new one. This prevents every keystroke from becoming its own version.
After restoring an older version, the text goes through the normal autosave again — whether that results in a new version or overwrites the existing one follows the same rule above.
Workflow
Open “Version history” above the text in the Content tab
Preview an earlier version
Click “Restore this version” to put the text back
After restoring, the text simply goes through the normal autosave again.
