Media Manager: Albums
An album is a collection of photos with a title, description, and other details, which you can publish to social media in one go. Media Manager is accessible to everyone, with no special role or setting required.
Album overview
Search existing albums by title. Each album shows a preview of the first three photos and, if applicable, the publication date.
Creating an album
Click “Nieuw album aanmaken” (Create new album, under “Media uploaden” in the menu). Fill in title, photographer, description, location, and date, then save — only after saving does the option to add photos appear.
Adding and ordering photos
Upload multiple photos at once. In the gallery, you can add a caption per photo, remove photos, and reorder them by dragging.
Publishing
Publishing can’t be undone, and later changes don’t carry over automatically. Newsroom explicitly asks for confirmation for this. After publishing, you can still edit the title, description, or photos within Newsroom itself, but those changes aren’t automatically pushed to the social channels where the album has already been published.
On publishing, Newsroom automatically creates a post on the linked social media channels, with the title, photographer, description, location, and date as text, and the added photos as media. There’s no minimum number of photos required to publish.
Before publishing, check under Routing that the Facebook or Instagram connection is active.
Platform limits on the number of photos per post:
- Facebook supports up to 10 photos per post. Add more, and Newsroom automatically distributes the rest across additional posts with the same text.
- Instagram supports up to 20 photos per post. Add more, and only the first 20 are posted — the rest aren’t placed in additional posts.
Create an album and save the basic details
Title, photographer, description, location, and date.
Add and order the photos
Upload, add captions, drag into the desired order.
Publish the album
Double-check everything — this step is irreversible and later changes don’t automatically carry over to the social channels.
