Managing regions
Regions are a second way of organizing posts alongside categories: you link them to individual posts to indicate which area within your broadcast area a post is relevant for.
Roles and permissions
Creating, renaming, deleting, and restoring regions all require the Settings role. Trying one of these actions without that role results in an error saying you don’t have permission to do so.
Overview, creating, and deleting
The list shows all regions, paginated. New ones are added with just a name; existing ones can be renamed directly in the list (inline, no separate page). Deleting can be soft: a deleted region can be brought back with a restore button.
A name must be unique — this applies both when creating and when renaming a region. Trying to reuse a name (even from a deactivated region) results in an error in both cases.
Linking to a post
In the post editor, you choose via checkboxes which regions apply to that specific post — multiple at once is possible. Every check or uncheck is saved immediately, there’s no separate save button. With many regions, a search field and a filter (all / selected / unselected) appear, with buttons to select or deselect all at once.
“Select all”/“Deselect all” applies to every region matching the active search, including ones on other pages — not just the regions currently visible. The buttons and pagination are temporarily disabled during this bulk action. If linking fails for some regions (for example due to a brief connection issue), an error message shows how many failed to link, and only the successful changes are kept.
Automatically generated posts only link a region if exactly one exists for the broadcaster. This applies to Read URL and Press release processing. For example: if your broadcaster has only one region (“Amsterdam”), it’s linked automatically to every post created that way. If your broadcaster has multiple regions (for example “Amsterdam” and “Amstelveen”), the field stays empty and you’ll need to check the right one(s) yourself in the post editor.
Use in publishing
With a WordPress connection, regions are used as categories on the WordPress side — see Routing: WordPress for that mechanism.
Workflow
Create the regions you need
One name per region, no further settings.
Link them to a post via the checkboxes in the post editor
Every change is saved immediately.
For automatically generated posts, check the linkage yourself
This only happens automatically when there’s exactly one region for the entire broadcaster.
