Routing: LinkedIn
Linking LinkedIn in Settings > Routing lets you push posts to a LinkedIn company page. See Roles and permissions for who has access.
LinkedIn only supports company pages, not personal LinkedIn profiles. You must be an administrator of the company page on LinkedIn itself to link it — when linking, Newsroom only shows pages you already administer on LinkedIn.
Roles and permissions
This page — like the rest of Settings > Routing, for all platforms — is only reachable for users with the Settings role (the same role used for most other Settings pages, e.g. AI settings and Plan/usage), not a separate LinkedIn-specific role. Without this role, opening the entire Routing page already shows an error instead of an overview of connected platforms.
Linking
Linking happens in two steps: first log in to LinkedIn, then pick a company page.
Authenticate
Click LinkedIn in Settings > Routing, then click Authenticate with LinkedIn in the window that opens. Log in to LinkedIn and grant Newsroom permission.
Pick a company page
Back in Newsroom, the window shows a list of the LinkedIn company pages you administer. Pick the page you want and click Link Page.
Don’t see the page you’re looking for (“No LinkedIn company pages are available for this account”)? Then you aren’t an administrator of that page on LinkedIn itself. Ask the current administrator to add you as an administrator on the LinkedIn company page, then link again.
What you see after linking
Once linked, Settings > Routing shows the name of the linked company page under LinkedIn (no logo or image). Two buttons are available:
- Change page — runs through the page-selection step again (step 2 above), useful if you want to switch to a different company page without logging in again.
- Delete — removes the connection entirely; you’ll need to log in and pick a page again to use LinkedIn once more.
When it publishes
Like Instagram and TikTok, LinkedIn publishes independently of the website publication (see Publishing to your channels) — as soon as the post is published, it goes to LinkedIn at the same time, even without a connected WordPress/Joomla site.
LinkedIn offers no feature to receive or reply to messages in Newsroom (no “inbox” connection like email has). That’s a deliberate limitation on LinkedIn’s own side — their messaging functionality isn’t freely available to apps like Newsroom — so it won’t be added.
